Tongue scraping is an important daily self-care ritual in the centuries-old healing system of Ayurveda. Among the various materials available, the copper tongue cleaner holds a special and respected place as copper is a natural antimicrobial material, having bacteriostatic and sanitising properties. A copper tongue scraper can be used daily, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach (before drinking and eating), to remove bacteria accumulated over night, reducing bad breath and improving oral hygiene.
How to use - step by step instructions:
1. Prep: Rinse the copper scraper with water before use.
2. Position: Stand in front of a mirror, stick out your tongue, hold the U-shaped tool with both hands, place the curved edge at the back of the tongue as far back as comfortable.
3. Scrape: Apply gentle pressure and drag the scraper forward to the tip of your tongue.
4. Rinse & Repeat: Rinse off the accumulated debris from the scraper with water after each pass. Repeat 4–5 times until the tongue feels clean.
5. Finish: Rinse your mouth with water and clean the scraper with water (and mild soap if needed).
6. Storage: Dry the copper tool completely to prevent tarnishing and store in a dry place. Copper may naturally darken over time, this is normal.
